Welcoming Special Guests on Sunday

Join Us For Brunch

On Sunday, February 12th, Old North will be hosting our RIM refugee family and RIM partners Temple Emanu-el and St Andrew's Church at the 10:00 AM service. The Christian Service and Fellowship Committees will offer a light brunch following the service so that members of our congregations can have an opportunity to surround this lovely Haitian mother and her young daughter with our support.  Red and pink Valentine hearts will be available at the brunch tables to fill a basket with love and good wishes.  Please join us! If you are able to provide a food contribution to the brunch (juice, muffins, coffee cake, tea breads, fruit, etc.) please email [email protected].

Children's Church News
Please stop by for some lemonade after the 10:00 service in the Parish Hall. The children will be selling lemonade and baked goods to raise money for their event with the REAL program in April. There will be more information to follow about this fun event.

Children's Church Wish List:
  • Are you interested in volunteering time in Children's Church? We are in need of adult and high school volunteers. Please click here to send a message to Karen to volunteer.
  • Legos: We will be working on some building projects and we could use more Legos. Do you have a handful or even a bucket full you would like to donate?
  • Children's Books: Do you have a favorite children's book to share?
  • Origami: Do you know how to make a peace crane? A dove? A fish? Are you willing to teach us how to make them too?
Feel free to contact Karen on Sunday mornings or at [email protected].
Old North's 2017 Stewardship Campaign
The Stewardship Committee would like to thank those of you who have contributed to the 252 pledges we have received to date. Click here to view a list of pledger names.   Together we have pledged nearly $482,000!  We encourage those of you who have not pledged yet to send in your pledge cards or pledge online at www.onchurch.org/donate. Members of the Stewardship Committee will be making follow-up calls soon! Please remember that every pledge with a 25% increase over last year will be matched by our challenge fund.
Career Transitions Group Now Meets on Sundays
From now through the end of March, the group will meet on Sunday mornings at 11:30am in the Beals Room in the Stacey St office building. Newcomers are always welcome.
Rehearsals for the Palm Sunday Lenten Concert Begin March 1st
Rehearsals for the annual Palm Sunday Lenten Concert will begin on Wednesday, March 1st at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. This year's repertoire will include Requiem in c minor, a stunning work, by Michael Haydn. (last performed at Old North in 2013). The young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart attended the first two performances of Haydn's Requiem twenty years before he composed his own version, which is strikingly similar! Rehearsals will take place every Wednesday evening through Palm Sunday and will include two Saturday rehearsals, April 1, and 8 from 10am-12pm. The performance will take place on the evening of Palm Sunday, April 9, at 7:30pm. All interested singers should contact Maria vanKalken at [email protected] so that we will be sure to have enough scores at the first rehearsal. All singers welcome!
