This Sunday in Children's Church |
We will be talking about making time and space for God and how we use this time of Lent to deepen who we are as God's Children.
"In the ground seeds and bulbs are sleeping, dreaming in shades of green. We are all waiting for spring, and in church we are waiting too, waiting for Easter. While we wait, we get ready."
~Make Room, A Child's guide to Lent and Easter by Laura Alary
Today, the Children will go directly to their classroom for time in the Chapel Tent. Together we will gather in the sanctuary for communion. I look forward to seeing you as we begin our Lent journey together.
Blessings, Karen

Fair Meeting - Tuesday, March 7 at 7pm |
We would like to have a follow-up meeting to share your comments, suggestions and wishes for the future. The Fair was a wonderful success , including the Around the World Raffle, so we want to assess what interest there is in going forward for another Fair, another Raffle, or take a break. Any other ideas for fundraising at ONC would be appreciated, as well. We will be meeting on Tuesday, March 7 at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. If you cannot attend, please do send your comments to share with the group. Thanks to you all! Ginny and Judy

Caring Ministry |
Just over two years ago, thanks to the kindness of many of you in offering to help, we set up the Caring Ministry
. The purpose of the Ministry was to offer help to senior members of Old North who found themselves in a situation where their own family or friends were unavailable to assist them. We received a good number of requests which we were delighted to honour. The request flow seems to have dried out, however, so we are here to relaunch the Ministry. To all members of our wonderful ONC community, young and not so young, please reach out to us should you find yourself needing some urgent help. Ways in which our team could assist you might include doctor visits, dog walks, company whilst home bound, shopping etc etc. Our team is all CORI cleared and ready to help you get through a crisis. Please contact either Linda Duvel (781 631 1703) or Lynda Hare (781 639 0107) for further information.

Real Program/Old North Church Children's Day |
The Real Program of Lynn and Old North Church Children's Day event is planned for Saturday, April 8. The Children's Church Committee has planned the day for building friendships, with Legos, lunch and time with Curious Creatures. The children have been busy preparing for the day by sharing what it is to invite friends into our home and what hospitality looks and feels like when we open our doors and hearts to new friends. With Lemonade and Mission Muffin sales, and your generosity the children have raised $340 to put toward the day. If you would like to make a donation you can send it along to the office noting "The Children's Day", give it to a Committee member or leave in the Donation jar on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your generosity and for being examples of Christ's light for the youngest in your church family.

Rehearsals for the Palm Sunday Lenten Concert Have Begun |
The Old North Church Senior Choir, soloists, and singers from the Old North Festival Chorus have started rehearsing for their annual Lenten Concert which takes place on the evening of Palm Sunday - Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 7:30pm - in the Old North Church sanctuary. This annual concert marks the beginning of Holy Week and was established to offer members of the Marblehead community an hour of musical reflection by candlelight. This year's program will feature Michael Haydn's Requiem in c minor (Michael Haydn was Franz Joseph Haydn's brother). This magnificent work is strikingly similar to Mozart's famous Requiem in d, which is not surprising, as the young Mozart attended the first performances of Michael Haydn's Requiem, and found it to be deeply inspiring.Registration and the first rehearsal took place on Wednesday, March 1, at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall of Old North Church. It's not too late to join! All interested and experienced singers are welcome and should contact: Maria van Kalken, ([email protected])
