Treasurer John Kennedy Commends Governor Jindal's Economic Development Trip Abroad

BATON ROUGE, La. - State Treasurer John Kennedy released a statement today applauding Governor Jindal for traveling overseas in an effort to bring home jobs for Louisiana workers.

"For a long time Louisiana competed with other states for good jobs.  Today we compete with the world," said Treasurer Kennedy.  "The new reality is we must sell ourselves in the global marketplace, and we have a good story to tell.  This requires us to be aggressive, and I commend the Governor for his efforts overseas to grow much-needed jobs in Louisiana."

According to a January 8 press release, Governor Jindal is traveling to South Korea, Taiwan and Japan this week to "cultivate more foreign-direct investment opportunities and increased trade between Louisiana and key Asian markets."
