Co-Chair our "Viva Las Gables" Gala

Special thanks to our Board Members, Aura Reinhardt (Vice President, Community Communications and Public Relations at Bacardi U.S.A., Inc.) and Matthew T. Meehan (Owner/President of MTM Management) for serving as Co-Chairs of our 22nd annual fund raising gala. They are putting together a live show featuring Vegas-style dancers (with a Coral Gables twist!) performed by New Century Dance Company, live music, casino-style gaming, and a live and silent auction.

This year's Gala theme is vintage Vegas black-tie event titled "Viva Las Gables" . Tickets for this fund raising event are $500 per person or $5,000 for a Table of 10. Children's Charity Classic
Golf Tournament

The Evensky & Katz Fund, administered by the Foundation, is proud to support and host their 9th Annual "Children's Charity Classic" Golf Tournament benefitting the Baptist Children's Hospital Foundation. The Baptist Children's Hospital Foundation provides philanthropic support to the Baptist Children's Hospital, a longtime leader in advanced pediatric care for children, from birth until age 18.

The Tournament will be held on December 6th, 2013 at Shula's Golf & Country Club, 7601 Miami Lakes Drive, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014.

A Coral-Gables-based company, Evensky and Katz Wealth Management is proud to have contributed more than $200,000 to a variety of worth causes through the Evensky & Katz Fund at the Coral Gables Community Foundation.

Tickets for the 5th annual TOUR of KITCHENS are selling fast. On sale now for $60 per person through December 31, 2013, the ticket price will increase on January 1st, 2014, to $75 per person. MERRICK SOCIETY

Do you DREAM IN COLOR?

George Merrick dreamed of 14 VILLAGES in varying architectural styles with 1,000 homes to be built. Today we have only 7 styles and 80 homes.

Among those themes planned but not built were Mexican and Japanese.

We have the Chinese, Florida Pioneer aka the Southern Colonial, French Country, 18th Century French City Village, 15th Century French Normandy (below), Dutch South African, and Italian Villages (2nd photo).

The Coral Gables Community Foundation established the Merrick Society so that visionary residents like you could continue George Merrick's dream for Coral Gables. The Merrick Society preserves key philanthropic activities in the Gables and raises unrestricted funds for the Foundation.

Merrick Society donors commit to a 3-year annual contribution of $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, or more. Merrick Society level donors are invited to the annual benefactor reception and other special functions, and receive a lapel pin in recognition of their participation and vision.
