"We Did It - Together!"

Dear Members & Friends of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
Whew! Well, we did it. We made our way through Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. What a journey it has been for us - in many ways.
I am grateful for the ways that we have journeyed together through all of our "Questions from the Roadside." Your questions have been honest, heartfelt, thoughtful, and real. They helped inform my own Lenten journey and preaching. Thank you for that. Holy Week was powerful again, as always, as we remembered our Lord's last supper and crucifixion. And, of course, we did Easter big, like always, with over six hundred worshippers joining us at our three services. It feels like we can now take a breather and relax a bit, doesn't it? Not so fast!
This coming Sunday is yet another reason to gather and celebrate big as we will be celebrating Holy Communion again at both services (including first communion for some of our young people), the reception of 15 new members at 10:30 a.m., the baptism of Dane Matthew Marek at 10:30 am, and my own farewell at both services and in between services, with the Bishop of Saint Paul Area Synod present all morning.
I am grateful for the years we have journeyed together - not just in Lent - but throughout the years. You have taught me much, and I pray God, through me, has done the same for you. We did it - together!
I look forward to this Wednesday and Sunday as we have yet another opportunity to wish one another well.
Peace and blessing, my friends.
