God has entrusted to you specific gifts, talents, and abilities. Through your experiences, God has added a specific measure of acquired knowledge. However, just as God has nurtured you, the enemy has been trying to thwart your growth.  The enemy's primary tool in this effort is the past events of your life.  The Bible teaches that you are a new creation. "So that, anyone in Christ, he is a creation new in quality." (2 Corinthians 5:17) .  You might have experienced positive and negative events, these events do not define who you are. Knowing that you have been created to have personal relationship with God defines who you are.

LET'S CELEBRATE THE WORD
from Don & Cassandra

In addition to being the person who God created you to be, you need to be doing exactly what God wants you to be doing.
____________________________________________________

To accomplish this, you must be walking in the Spirit.  You cannot walk in the Spirit unless you have submitted your will to the Spirit's navigation. In every facet of life, there are decisions that must be made. In 2 Kings 22:2, King Josiah provides an historical reference of the principle of doing exactly what God wants you to do. 2 Kings 22:2 states;

"and he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left."

When King Josiah was faced with a decision, he essentially had five choices;

  • do nothing
  • move backwards
  • turn to the right hand
  • turn to the left hand
  • move forward in the ways of the Lord

These are your same choices.

Is your choice the fifth one? Doing exactly what God wants you to do will often require you to seek the direction and counsel of those whom God has place into your life.  Seeking godly counsel is an act of submission and it is part of the surrendering process. When you turn to the left or to the right you are still attempting to make progress but you are trying to do it in your own strength.  So, the only way to be doing exactly what God wants you to be doing is to focus on Him.  To accomplish this, you must submit your will.

Following the navigation of the Holy Spirit does not guarantee a smooth path with pleasant temperatures and clear skies.  But your experiences will have purpose and meaning and and abundance of life.

Finally, to be right where God wants you to be, you must always view your experiences as God ordained. Again, you may not understand your circumstances, you might not like them, but if you see them as God ordained, there will be purpose within them. Submitting your will to the navigation of an abundance of life will cause you to move along your pathways with purpose and meaning, even when you do not quite understand.

PRAYING IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU

"Search me, God, and know my heart.
Try me, and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the everlasting way".

Psalm 139:23-24
