Dear Girl Scout Family
Guest blogger this week is Becky Reynolds, Director of Development.
As a member of our Girl Scout Family, you know the positive impact Girl Scouting has on girls' lives. Through our diverse Girl Scout programming, girls gain important leadership skills and self-confidence. I hope you feel inspired by all the amazing experiences your Girl Scout has taken part in during her journey to build leadership skills through courage, confidence, and character!
Girl Scouts reaches out to all girls with an experiential and cooperative learning philosophy to develop a girl's sense of self and values, while promoting team-building to inspire action. The values instilled in your Girl Scout through the Girl Scout Promise and Law are building blocks for her future and will develop her into a strong leader with the passion and the know-how to change the world.
This Thursday, November 14 - I ask you to join me in supporting Girl Scouts of Minnesota & Wisconsin Lakes & Pines through the Great Minnesota Give Together - Give to the Max Day! - a day to inspire unprecedented levels of charitable giving in the state of Minnesota!
Please say you value Girl Scouting by marking your calendar for November 14 and donating here to make a BIG difference in lives and futures of the young girls in your community!
One girl can make a difference; girls together can change the world.
In Girl Scouting,
Becky R.

Carla Lasky is a Girl Scout Troop Leader from Duluth. Recently she sent in a letter showing appreciation for sister volunteer Shirley Balgaard who introduced her to new international aspects of Girl Scouting. We thought you might enjoy hearing some of the insights she shared.
"... Eleven years ago, I started my troop. We ran our meetings, did some of the council events and went to Camp Roundelay. Then I met Shirley Balgaard! She opened up the world of Girl Scouts to me. She taught me what Roperunners and SWAPaloozas were by letting me help her run one of each. She showed me how to have an International Festival for World Thinking Day. She signed our troop up with hers for Our World, Our Family camp, which is amazing!
