Weird Wednesday, as it fell on 4th of July. Sales have been below average for my shop. Ton of customers on vacation & we have been overrun with MTG players from M-13 pre release.
The shops top seller was Avengers vs X-Men #7, BUT the top money book was Batman Earth-One HC. It sold like an average DC comic.
Like Scott Snyder's New 52 Batman? Everybody does. It's my shops #1 selling regular ongoing book. His run as writer of Batman began in Detective Comics with issue #871 -881, Fans are starting to seek these out. Prices are exploding online. #880 Joker cover is $10-$20 Get em NOW!

A Guardians of the Galaxy movie is in development. I would imagine that would make Marvel Super-Heroes #18 (Jan. 1969) a KEY issue "IF" the movie source material is indeed the 1960's team, if not it would be the 2008 team & Guardians of the Galaxy (vol. 2) #1 (May 2008) will be the key book. I suspect this WILL be the case because of the role Thanos plays in the series. We ALL know he is going to be in upcoming movies. Key roles in the movie could cause1st appearances to "spike", many of which are now undervalued gems & can be had on the cheap:
Tales to Astonish vol. 1 #13 (November 1960) Marvel Preview #4 (Jan. 1976), Captain America (1st series) #434 (1994) Strange Tales #180 (June, 1975) Marvel Super-Heroes (1st series) #18 (January 1969)
How long before the Inflammatory Rich Johnson uses some of this on his gossip site?

Valiant X-On Manowar #1 second print is a solid $10 book on Ebay right now. It's the rare underprinted new Valiant comic.
With momentum building towards Walking Dead #100, the current story arc is flying. Here is my prediction. #100 is part 4 of a 6 part story arc. #100 is going to be promoted to the max by shops & publisher. #100 is going to draw in a TON of new readers. #100 was over ordered by shops. The Ottley & McFarlane covers are ALREADY sold out at the distributor level. #97, #98, #99 are going to explode price wise as the story will not wrap & go to for 2 months after #100. The SDCC variant is going to be HUGE. The Comixology black & white Ottley cover is going to be a $400 book in NO time.
Th3rd World Studios presents FINDING GOSSAMYR, from the studio that brought out STUFF OF LEGEND!
"When a brilliant young boy named Denny solves the greatest perplexing puzzle in the history of mankind, he and his caretaker sister Jenna are transported to the fantastic land of Gossamyr, where math is magic and the boy's unique condition gives him incredible power."
That tells you something of the story... now here's an even bigger part of this! FINDING GOSSAMYR is only available from two dozen retailers in the US until the end of July. More than that, each involved retailer got ONE extremely LIMITED variant edition, by star artist JIM STARLIN (Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel, Dreadstar).
There are just 25 of these numbered variant edition. They are $150+ on Ebay.

Disney signed a deal with Third World Studios to make Stuff of Legends a live/animated film. If the movie even comes close to the source material, this will be huge for the industry. I have seen an increased interest in the 3 trades. I expect prices on these indy gems to rise sharply soon. Warned ya. Once dead stock, the exclusive editions I sell on my website began selling this week. Once series artist Charles Paul Wilson III started offering his Pooh bear con sketches in A. A Milne style, he has really blown up. He's a "Rock Star"

Respectable sellers worth watching: Resident Alien Danger Club Earth 2 The Cape 1969
The quality & timely shipping of Saga is building numbers nicely. Fans adore this creator owned property from Image. the decision to do later printings with virtually the same cover has snuffed out collector demand for first printings.
Star Trek / Dr Who #1 is a legitimately hot book right now. the second print did not slow the online gravy train. It shipped out of print & allocated to shops. Online prices are well above $10, & $30+ for variants. #2 sold great this week.
