LOOKING BACK:
Family Art Night at Top-of-the-World School
One-hundred and fifty people filled the auditorium at TOW for a night of fun and creativity on November 6.
Kids, parents, relatives and friends enjoyed hands-on creativity in using oil pastels to paint leaves, and collage them into a family-tree poster.
Lisa Manion & daughter Meghan
"Creativity is the foundation of intelligent thinking" said parent and TOW organizer Christina Shook. "Expressing ideas through art is critical to learning - we need more art workshops in our schools!" she proclaimed.
LOCA's Sherry Bullard served to design the project, create visual examples, and organize materials for this big night, and diverse population. Additional instructors were Reem Khalil, Mike Tauber, and Sandra Weir.
As a result, family bonds were strengthened, and everyone went home with a family-tree legacy art piece.
