THE DEVIL'S PULPIT WAS IN THE DETAILS AT THE MAZDA SUMMIT
Caledon Village, ON
(Sept 5, 2017) - The Mazda Summit was hosted by the spectacular Devil’s Pulpit. Mother Nature was on side, providing a full field of players with a beautiful day and the always spectacular views from atop the Niagara Escarpment. From the first tee shot, you are reminded what has made this course so great: generous fairways that roll in all directions, fescue lurking ALL around you and undulating greens that have the “escarpment effect” and can, at times, leave you questioning the presence of gravity. The Pulpit is a wonderful golf experience that demands respect and strategy… Let the games begin!
Ryan Taylor of the Champ Flight would take the first win of the day, carding a score of 75. Second and third place were close, with Mark Rodgers shooting 79 and Graham McCulloch, right behind him, with an 80.
A Flight would see a tie for first place between Paul Parsons and John Farrugia, both carding scores of 82. The tie-breaker would end in favour of Paul, leaving John to settle for second. Mike Reynolds came in, one stroke behind, for third place.
B Flight would be another close race as Eldar Curovic took first place with an 83 with Mark Matusiak right behind with an 84. Rob Haynes would finish third, in his first event of the season, with a score of 87.
C Flight would see a new player on top this week, with Dave Marcotte shooting an 87 for the win. Tour regular Rick Jones would find his way onto the leader-board once again, taking second place with 94.
