THE MAZDA SUMMIT FUELS A FALL BATTLE AT DEVIL'S PAINTBRUSH
CALEDON, ON (September 6, 2016) – Climbing to the top of the escarpment this week, The Tour would summit at the Devil's Pulpit - Paintbrush course. Players would be welcomed by a mid-summer like day being hot, humid and sunny day along with a natural and rugged course that tops the charts with awe inspiring vistas, stone walls, plentiful fescue, outstanding conditioning and bunkers you could get lost in. This Dr. Michael Hurdzan-Fry masterpiece design is just awesome and would be the perfect stage for a phenomenal day of competition.
Two players were locked at the top of Champ Flight this week by posting matching scores of 73. This resulted a playoff between Dan Findlay and Kusal Fernando. Dan bested Kusal in a two hole playoff. Third place would be captured by Brent Clements who carded a 75. The A Flight's Chris Corvese was crowned victor today shooting 77 but Ian Murray and Mark O'Neill were knocking at the doorstep with matching 78's which respectively secured them second and third. Rob Shevalier would shoot the score of a lifetime to win the B Flight with an incredible 1 under par 71... Congrats on this fabulous round Rob! Securing second place was Billy Hutzul who shot an 80 and in third place was Jeff Price who also shot an 80. Tour veteran. and all round nice guy. Jay White was crowned winner of the C Flight this week shooting 88. One stoke back was Tour rookie Ken Peck who took second and Franco Aceto secured third place with an 89. Seniors' B Flight was won by Ken May and in Women's Flight, it was Elaine Scarlett charting her second win in as many events, posting Net 90.
