PLAYERS HAMMER AWAY AT THE FIRST M+M CONTRACTING CLASSIC AT CHERRY HILL CLUB
Ridgeway, ON (May 2, 2017) – The third stop in this early tour season would be at Cherry Hill Club, located just outside Fort Erie, ON. A private golf club, Cherry Hill was founded in 1922, with a rich history and has hosted two national golf championships, and was designed by renowned golf architect, Walter J. Travis.
As the cool spring day began, Champ Flight would be the first to venture out, with John Harrington rounding with 78 to claim the victory, followed closely by Mike Kavander posting an 80 and Tour good guy Mike Alderman carding 81.
Champ Flight's Tim Wilkovesky saw his first hole in one, winning the hole in one challenge sponsored by Mazda!
A Flight would see smooth swinging Michael Corvese round out the day with a winning score of 81, nipping at his heels would be his brother Chris Corvese posting 83 and Tour rookie Marc Desgroseilliers securing third spot shooting 84.
Mark Van Alstyne would post an 88 to take the cake in B Flight, and with two deadlocked at 89, Adrian Jayne would secure second spot and Jake Naccarato would slide into a third position finish.
C Flight's Jim Curren would climb the ladder this week to finish on top posting 93, second place would go to George Vasic posting 97 and just one back would be John Harris settling for third spot.
Seniors' Flight was a battle to the finish and Todd Stones would claim victory shooting a nifty 86 and David Johnson only three back posting 89 for a second place finish. Fred Cousineau led the Seniors' Net competition with a net 80, closely followed by Brain Knott.
Laura DiFlorio would be front and centre on the podium this week, leading the Women's Flight, posting a net 85.
