Members! Join us for two daylong journeys to local spiritual and religious sites to explore how different traditions incorporate nature, art, and architecture. Explore Winston-Salem as seen through a lens of pilgrimage and art and alongside other Members of the Museum on Wednesday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 31.

Each experience will explore commonalities, cultural exchange, and disparities in how the visual world is understood in relation to spirituality and divinity. Choose to take part in one or both of the trips, each of which will include four distinct sites. Our experiences at each location will be facilitated by local clergy, scholars, and community experts.
Frederic Church: A Painter's Pilgrimage
OPENS FEBRUARY 9
Frederic Church: A Painter's Pilgrimage highlights the artist's own experiences in the Near East and Mediterranean. Earlier in his career, Church saw the divine in the sublimity of the natural world, and during his pilgrimage, he finds the same in the ruins of antiquity.
