The arrival of July brings us to a time of great change and great promise...
Hopefully, you have all heard the official announcement: Co-Founder
Jill Staton Bullard will retire from IFFS (but
not
from food-systems advocacy!) at the end of July. Jill's vision grew the Food Shuttle's mission beyond simply
Feeding
our neighbors in need. Today the Food Shuttle works to empower our neighbors in need by
Teaching
them work and life-skills. And we work to improve our community by
Growing
a more equitable food system for all.
The future is about building on that foundation, and Jill would be the first to say we can only end hunger if we move forward together.
In Jill's own words: "The Food Shuttle is effective only because of the support of food donors, volunteer- based soup kitchens and outreach agencies, and a host of public and private supporters, and I want to thank them for the hard work they have committed to us over the years."
