Let's go fishing.
The fishing reports we've been getting from you over the past month have confirmed what we were hoping for: a great start to the 2013 fly fishing season.

Our guides and on on-stream instructors have been busy out on the water and their reports reflect the same.  We had one customer from our recent On-Stream Beginner Fly Fishing school say the following:

"I can't say enough about the class.  Dave and Scott were terrific instructors and we all had a great time. It was a terrific day.  The follow-up photos have been great fun to share.  The weather was tough, but there were no whiners in our group.  I suspect we will be booking with Dave and/or Scott again because they were so knowledgeable, patient, and sweet."

When we get feedback like this from our customers it's a day maker.  On that note, I'd like to ask that you respond to a very brief survey that we have included in this email.  It should take less than two minutes of your time.  The goal of the survey: we want to find out how to give you the information you want - when you want it.  We also don't want to inundate you with information you don't want.

Don't forget to check out our state wide Fishing Conditions page if you are planning a fly fishing trip.

As always, we appreciate your business and continued support.

Cheers,

LET'S TALK ABOUT COLORADO SNOWPACK AND:
The State of the State
SNOWPACK AND FLY FISHING REPORT
Denver Water had just announced that Stage 2 Watering Restrictions are going to go into effect April 1, 2013.  Essentially, this will limit the number of days per week households are allowed to water their lawns.  While this announcement may sound alarming to many residents and anglers alike, we at Trouts would like to "clear the air" so to speak and elaborate on exactly what this ultimately means for our 2013 spring/summer fishing season.

In short, we anticipate the 2013 fishing season to be long due to limited runoff, full of epic hatches, and most importantly hungry fish.  As of March 27, our statewide snow pack sits at 79% of average, with many river basins in the 80%+ range.  Considering that this time last year we were looking at numbers in the 50%-60% range, I'd have to say that our current snow pack seems pretty good.
