Important Reminder on Green Reinstatement

If you have a horse which needs to receive a green reinstatement, the deadline to have your completed application into the Federation office is rapidly approaching. In accordance with HU 105.1(a), "The Federation recorded owner must submit the green reinstatement application, which must reach the Federation office on or before November 30th of the year of withdrawal. The request must be made during the year in which green status was broken.

 

The complete rules regarding eligibility to receive a green reinstatement can be found on the USEF website. The rules applicable to eligibility and reinstatement are HU 103, HU 104, HU 105 and HU 106.

2014 World Championship Hunter Rider

Schedule Announced

Congratulations to the competitions selected to host a WCHR Member Event in 2014. The 2014 Schedule of Events can be found on the WCHR Calendar. The first Member Event of 2014 begins on January 15, 2014, so be sure to renew your WCHR membership now if you haven't already!

 

New Junior 3'3" Category For 2014

The Junior 3'3" category was created to recognize and reward WCHR members participating in the Junior Hunter 3'3" section, that is debuting as a new USEF and USHJA HOTY point section in the 2014 competition year. Members in the new category can earn points in any A-rated, 3'3" Junior Hunter Section held at WCHR Member Events.

 

Developing Professional Specifications

Developing Professionals, be sure to review the 2014 Developing Professional specifications before renewing your membership! If you have placed 1st-12th in the Professional Challenge during the WCHR Finals at the Capital Challenge Horse Show, you are automatically considered part of the Professional Category.

Special WCHR Events for 2014  

Blue Ribbon Both the East Coast and West Coast Hunter Spectaculars will return in 2014. The Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular will take place Saturday February 15, 2014, during WCHR week at ESP WEF 6 (February 12-16). For the first time in its history $100,000 in prize money will be awarded!

 

After an exciting and successful debut in 2013, the Flintridge Spring Classic will once again host the West Coast Spectacular on Saturday April 19, 2014, during WCHR week (April 17-20). Both venues will offer an accompanying dinner party with table sales benefiting the USHJA Foundation and the Horseman's Assistance Fund.

2014 Pre-Green Incentive Enrollment Opens November 15 

The 2013 Pre-Green Incentive Program Series winds down this week with the final two Stake classes for the series being offered in Conyers, GA, and Katy, TX. There are already several Stake classes listed on the 2014 calendar for December through February, with more being added weekly. Enrollment for the 2014 Series opens on November 15, 2014.

 

Annual Enrollment Fee:

* Opening Date of Enrollment - February 1 of each series - $350
* February 2 - June 1 of each series- $550
* June 2 - November 30 of each series - $750

 

Enrolled horses will be eligible to compete in the PGIP Stake classes, qualify for the 2014 Championship and be included in the National Standings. Money won program tracking lists honor horses by age and gender, as well as the top Thoroughbred and American-Bred horses. Rider recognition will be based on overall total money won.

USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Program & National Hunter Derby 2014 Class Specifications Available

The 2014 Class Specifications for both the Pre-Green Incentive Program and National Hunter Derby are available online. Classes may be held at any Premier (AA), National (A), Regional I (B) or Regional II (C) competition, or competitions holding a Special Competition license. Both programs run concurrently with the competition year, December 1 through November 30.

USHJA International Hunter Derby 2013-14 Series Enrollment

The USHJA International Hunter Derby Program is going strong with many of the participating horses enrolled and accumulating money won toward the National and Regional tracking lists, as well as the Championship Qualifying list.

A horse may compete in any International Hunter Derby without being enrolled in the International Hunter Derby Program but the standings include only those horses enrolled in the program, and the riders of enrolled horses. Enroll before you compete to become eligible for regional and national awards AND to qualify to compete in the 2014 International Hunter Derby Championship!

 

Annual Enrollment Fee: $200 for the 2013-14 Derby Series which
includes competitions starting June 2, 2013, through November 30, 2014.

A minimum of 60% of all enrollment fees collected in each region will be paid out to the top six horses on each regional Horse Money Won list at the conclusion of the 2013-14 series in November 2014.

Enrolled Derby Horses Must Renew USEF Horse Recording

We are almost a third of the way through the 18-month series running from June 2, 2013, through November 30, 2014. As the 2013 competition year comes to a close please remember to renew your horse's USEF Horse Recording prior to December 1, 2013, to remain eligible for the IHD tracking lists. All enrolled horses must maintain an active USEF recording to retain IHD money won between June 2, 2013, and November 30, 2013, and to continue to accumulate money toward the IHD tracking lists.
