Mr. Todashev's Legal Team Has Secured a Meeting w/ State Prosecutor Jeff Ashton Re: FBI Shooting of Ibragim Todashev
In addition to CAIR-FL, the victim's father is being represented by prominent Tampa lawyers Eric Ludin and Barry Cohen

(TAMPA, FL, 8/14/13) - The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) received word from the Orlando-Osceola state prosecutor's office that Jeff Ashton will be meeting with Mr. Abdulbaki Todashev, father of slain Chechen Muslim Ibragim Todashev, whom CAIR-FL has been helping demand answers as to how and why his son was killed by the FBI in May. We remain grateful to Mr. Ashton's office for taking up his own investigation of the shooting that has been marred by inconsistent, contradictory leaks by the FBI and law enforcement since CAIR-FL began demanding answers.
We hope to also schedule meetings to discuss the shooting with the US Attorney's Office as well.

At a press conference yesterday, CAIR-FL announced the formation of Mr. Todashev's legal team, in addition to CAIR-FL attorneys who have been counseling the Todashev family since Day One. Prominent local attorneys Eric Ludin of 'Tucker and Ludin Law Group' and Barry Cohen of 'The Barry A. Cohen Law Group' will be lead counsel in any civil cases filed against the FBI for the wrongful death of Mr. Todashev's eldest son.

In the past few days alone, CAIR-FL has received hundreds of media hits around our quest for answers, accountability and justice in the FBI shooting death of Ibragim Todashev. We have cemented our reputation as a 'premier civil rights advocacy organization,' and have successfully garnered a state investigation into an otherwise tight-lipped FBI shooting with too many inconsistencies and civil rights violations to count.
