1,000 Books Before
Kindergarten
This is a FREE program that parents/caregivers can use to help prepare their child(ren) for kindergarten. All you have to do is read to your child - it's that simple. The goal is to read 1,000 books before your child enters kindergarten.
Beginning August 28, come to the library to sign up for the program. We will give you a folder containing your first reading log, program instructions, and some book lists to help you determine different books to read to your child. Repeat books count and so do story time books; reading to your child or having them "read" to you counts.
Small prizes will be awarded after 100 books, 500 books, and a certificate of completion AND a gift will be awarded after 1,000 books! You will have until September 30 of the year your child starts kindergarten to complete the program.
GOOD LUCK!
