"We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage." MT 2:2
Message from the Principal
Dear Families,

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone was able to spend some quality time with their loved ones as we celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ.

Second semester is a time of much excitement and importance. Besides scheduled events (Academic Competitions, Dance Marathon, Concerts, Athletics, Run-a-thon, etc…), students will also be engaged in numerous assessments (ISTEP, AP, ACT/SAT) that will have a major impact on their college and career goals. Having just received report cards at Parent-Teacher conferences, I highly encourage all families and students to sit down and reflect on the first semester and develop goals for the upcoming semester. Below you will find some important dates for upcoming standardized assessments:

o    AP Exams (All students enrolled in AP courses)
o  5/7 – Chemistry & Psychology
o  5/10 – US Government
o  5/11 – Computer Science
o  5/14 – Calculus
o  5/15 – English & Macro Economics
o  5/16 – World History

o   ISTEP (7 th , 8 th , 10 th , and 11 th grade re-testers)
o  2/26 – 3/9 – Applied Skills Testing Window (Makes up 30% of overall score)
o  4/16 – 5/4 – Multiple Choice Testing Window (Makes up 70% of overall score)

o   ACT/SAT (College Entrance Exam taken by Juniors and Seniors – scheduled by families)
o  Offered on numerous dates and locations

As I conduct classroom observations and make my way through the halls, I continue to be highly impressed with the student body at Cardinal Ritter High School. Besides the engagement and focus observed in class, student conduct is kind and respectful in the hallways. There is a positive spirit in the building and it makes being a part of this community special.

Reflecting on my first semester as Principal at Cardinal Ritter, I could not be more thankful for the families that are a part of this community. The level of involvement of our families is something that cannot be overlooked and is a true blessing to this school.

I wish everyone the best as we start the New Year!

God Bless,
Mr. Pelych
