Palm Beach Dramaworks
introduces
Dramawise

An Engaging Series that
Explores  the Playwright's Words and
How a Production is Brought to Life
Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce the inaugural season of Dramawise, a series that expands on and replaces the popular Knowledge & Nibbles. In addition to the familiar format - a conversation about an upcoming play with the cast, designers, and director, preceded by lunch at a neighborhood restaurant - audiences will now have the exciting opportunity to delve into the play with Gary Cadwallader, PBD's new director of education and community engagement.

Each program will take place on the day (Thursday) prior to the opening night of a production, beginning on October 13 with Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana.

Dramawise is divided into two "acts," separated by an intermission (otherwise known as lunch). Participants can choose to partake in the entire program, or just a portion. Act I, which runs from 10:00am - 11:30am, begins with a discussion led by Cadwallader, who will examine the play's big ideas, its characters, themes, social relevance, and the views expressed by the playwright. Those who attend will receive a comprehensive study guide and a copy of the script prior to the class, which will take place at PBD's Perlberg Studio Theatre on the second floor of the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Act II, which follows lunch (11:45am - 12:45pm) at a nearby restaurant, features the actors, designers, and director offering their insiders' views of the play and the process of staging the production, and includes a Q&A. This portion of Dramawise takes place from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on the theatre's main stage.

All proceeds from Dramawise support the PBD Theatre Guild. Ticket prices for Acts I, II, and lunch are $40 for PBD Guild members and $50 for non-Guild members. Tickets for Act II and lunch are $30 for Guild members and $40 for non-Guild members. Tickets for Act II only are $15 for Guild members and $20 for non-Guild members. Act I begins at 10:00am, lunch at 11:45am, and Act II at 1:00pm.

Reservations are required, and space is limited.
