10 Barrel Brewing Company NewsletterJanuary 2011

Message From Garrett, Jeremy, and Chris

As we come up on our 1st anniversary at the pub, now's as appropriate a time as any to thank all of our loyal customers and employee's!! Needless to say, none of this would have been possible without you! There are a lot of very exciting things happening at 10 Barrel and 2011 is shaping up to be another great year!

You may have heard about the additions to our world class brewing team, and that we're working day and night to get our brewery expansion pushed through.  You may also notice that we're updating and improving all of our branding, logos, and packaging.  We have some amazing beers planned to be brewed soon, including our first sour beers, an expanded barrel aging program, and more great seasonals to come!

Cheers to 2011!!

Introducing our newest additions to the brewing team!!
We would like to formerly introduce the two newest members or our brewing team! Joining current brewers Thom Tash and Dan Olsen will be highly regarded brewers Jimmy Seifrit and Tonya Cornett!
Jimmy joined the 10 Barrel crew in January after nearly 14 years as a Senior Brewer at Deschutes Brewery.  Jimmy's impact has been felt immediately as he begins to spearhead our barrel aging expansion, helping with our production beers, and working on future recipe creation that will help lead to beers that we (and you) have only dreamed of!!

Although she's already hanging around and helping out, Tonya will be joining the team full time this summer, depending on when the expansion is complete! Expect more information on her as we get closer to the Summer months!

Valentine's Beer Pairing Dinner

We are very excited to announce our first annual Valentine's Day beer pairing dinner! Brewmaster Jimmy Seifrit and Chef's Justin Hanson and Mike Moor have put together an incredible menu, giving you the opportunity to sample some amazing food dishes paired with traditional 10 Barrel beers, but with a twist.  Ever wondered what our S1NIST0R Black Ale would taste like infused with imported Vanilla beans and paired with spicy green lip muscles topped with a black caviar? Center cut Filet Mignon with a dark cherry demi, paired with the brewers Barrel Aged Surprise?
Come join us for a very special evening with full presentations and intricate food/beer pairings and descriptions from the Chef's and Brewmaster.  Six courses in all, $50/person includes all food, drink, and gratuity.  Please come sign up at the pub or email Garrett at gwales@10barrel.com to hold your spot.  We are starting with a 7:15 seating.  Don't miss out on this once a year event!

Upcoming Beer Releases!!

As I mentioned, the brewers are hard at work getting some new and improved recipes back on tap!! Here's just a taste of what we've got coming through the pipe.

  • ISA Prototype beer- A hoppy session beer that delivers quafability along with great aromatics and flavor
  • Imperial Red- Precursor R/D beer- A robust high alcohol red driven by NW style hop charge riding on a blanket of malt to showcase the hops. This beer will also have additional conditioning in Bourbon and Rye barrels
  • Bourbon aged Sinister- We took our Sinister black ale and augmented by aging it in bourbon barrels
  • Cab Belgian Blonde- This is a beer that plays tricks on the eyes and pallet. It taste and looks like a wine but drinks like a beer.
  • Bourbon aged English Style IPA- This beer combines it's noble roots with a splash of American Bourbon flavor.
  • Hop Junkie- Our vision of what an Imperial IPA should be. It delivers a potent citrus punch the marries nicely with the caramel forward malt bill.
  • NW Style Red- This beer delivers a boat full of flavor. It is a great example of how to make both the hops and malt shine simultaneously in a beer.
