Signature Healthcare presents the 13th Annual Champions Fighting Cancer Walk being held on May 6th from 8-10 a.m starting at Brockton High School and ending at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. 4. Learn About Brockton's History - May 6th & May 20th
The Brockton Historical Society Regional Center is open from 2 - 4 p.m. and from 3 -4 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month and other hours by appointment. The buildings are the Homestead, an early shoemaker's residence's; the shoe museum and the fire museum. Featured exhibits at the Homestead include the Rocky Marciano and Thomas Edison displays. Complimented by a documentary, the footwear exhibits trace the evolution of American shoemaking from the 16th century. The video is shown at 3 p.m., Sundays and by appointment. 5. Bay Sate Bike Week Kick-Off Event - May 12th
Brockton is celebrating Bay State Bike Week at D.W. Field Park, Brockton, Saturday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. Whether you're an enthusiastic cyclist, casual rider, or are just looking for an easy, fun and healthy way to reduce your carbon footprint join us as Brockton celebrates Bay State Bike Week with activities geared toward all ages and skill levels. 8:30 Group ride from City Hall - 10:00 Check in at D.W. 6. "Let the Art Touch You" - through May 13th
Fuller Craft Museum present, Michael Cooper: A Sculptural Odyssey, 1968 - 2011, works that depict seemingly commonplace objects transformed by the artist's wit, keen insight into human nature, and extraordinary technical facility. His fantastical "vehicles," including pistol-packing tricycles, astoundingly intricate wooden hot rods that don't quite go anywhere, and curiously mobile forms of "furniture," underscore his role as one of the most imaginative sculptors working today. 7. "Tell Me More, Tell Me More" about Brockton High School - May 12th & May 13th
Brockton High School Drama Club presents Grease, the fun musical about teens in the 60's on May 12th and 13th at the Brockton High School Fine Arts Building located at 470 Forest Avenue, Brockton. The cost is $12.00 per person. If you have not seen a Brockton High production, it is not to be missed. 8. Parents Enjoy a Few Hours to Yourself while Kids Enjoy a Night Out at the YMCA - May 18th
Kids ages 5-14 join us at the Youth Branch of the Old Colony Y from 6:15pm - 8:00 p.m. for a fun night out! Kids Night Out is a great way for kids to meet other kids and have fun while parents enjoy a few hours to themselves! Children can participate in a special arts/craft project, play a variety of board games, do a puzzle, see a movie and more! Y Members are $8; Non-Members are $10. 9. Race Against Hunger- May 20th
Join the Charity Guild for the Race Against Hunger on Sunday, May 20th from 1-4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Guild Food Pantry. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 50 to register. Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female runners, the best male and female runners under 18, and for the top fundraising team.
