A lot of providers are familiar with Medicare but not non-Medicare payors. This session will teach home care staff how to effectively and efficiently bill other insurance companies. The front end of getting the referral is extremely important. Therefore, we will explore what is included in the insurance verification process and what important questions should be asked in the beginning, as well as, on a continuous basis throughout the life of the patient with your agency. There are also nuggets of information to be aware of when billing your claims that they will find helpful. Each participant will successfully know from the beginning what to expect in the form of payment from the insurance company. Terminology will be discussed and expounded on to help facilitate a better understanding of the process. Collection calls will be sampled and demonstrate the importance of persistence. By the end of the presentation, attendees will be comfortable accepting insurance clients and in the end, most importantly, get paid for services rendered.
