GIRL SCOUTS BRIDGE INTO THE NEXT CENTURY AT DISNEYLAND
To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts, Disney Youth Programs welcomed thousands of Girl Scouts to a special bi-coastal Bridging event held at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida over Memorial Day weekend.

Girl Scout troops and alumnae from all over the country gathered at Epcot and Disneyland park for the Bridging into the Next Century event. Girls on both coasts were able to meet and connect with Girl Scouts from other backgrounds and communities. This symbolic ceremony marked Girl Scouts’ entry into its second century.

The events included recitations of the Girl Scout pledge, crafts exchanges, inspirational songs and displays of important Girl Scouts history and memorabilia. In California, GSGLA CEO Lise Luttgens and Daisy Duck helped kick off the celebration welcoming 1,000 Girl Scouts from the greater Los Angeles area and other councils, who were able to participate in the "Disney Leadership in Action: Pursuit of Excellence" leadership and team building experience. In Florida, Minnie Mouse received a special pin commemorating her 30 years as an honorary Girl Scout.

MORE THAN 200,000 GIRL SCOUTS ROCK THE MALL!
Rock the Mall, hosted by the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, was the largest gathering of Girl Scouts in history with over 200,000 Girl Scouts from around the world, their family and friends, as well as alumnae of all ages descending upon Downtown Washington DC on the National Mall to celebrate the power of girl leadership and commemorate the Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary with music and songs. Girl Scouts sang over 60 songs and attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the largest sing-along. Guest song leaders and featured talented girl voices included: Capital Blend, an all-female a cappella group, The Voice finalist, Erin Willett, the teenage pop group, SAVVY and GSGLA Girl Scout and singer, Ani Hesse, who led the more than 200,000 plus Girl Scouts in singing the official Rock the Mall song, "IGNITE!"

TOGETHERTHERE - HAVE YOU SIGNED THE PLEDGE?
A girl looks at the world around her; the country's leaders and captains of industry; at TV, movie, sports, and pop stars; at fashion magazines. What do her possibilities look like? Who are her role models? How can she be it, if she can't see it? It's time we made changes that support her path to success. Together, we can get her there.
