Grace and Joy to You Congress Delegates!

Have you registered yet for the 108th Annual Session of the Congress of Christian Education?  Here are the Top 10 Reasons to Attend in 2013:
  1. Witness the National Baptist Young Adult Explosion consisting of Young Adults 18-35 praising God and hear the powerful preacher of New York's own, Rev. Reginald Bachus.
  2. Meet college admissions officers and learn about financial support at the College Fair.
  3. "Pay it Forward" by participating in a local community service project.
  4. Enjoy a motivational message from the always provocative Roland Martin while supporting college scholarships at the President's Education Banquet or during a general session.
  5. Get inspired at the Musical on Monday evening or the fabulous Late Night Preaching sessions.
  6. Improve your health and the health of your congregation by attending the Health Fair.
  7. Experience a scene that you won't see anywhere else:  5,000 Children Rallying for Christ.
  8. Be present as we honor "A Legendary Preacher" and present the A.L.P.  Award -Dr. Ralph West of Houston, TX will be the speaker.
  9. Learn with fellow National Baptists from all over the country in one of over 300 Christian Education classes - classes are filling fast!
  10. Visit attractions and events you didn't get a chance to visit in 2012, like The Gateway Arch, The Pro Football Hall of Fame; Six Flags St. Louis; The Art Museum, Zoo and Botanical Gardens;  or Find Your Thrill on Blueberry Hill, at a Major League Baseball Game (Cardinals vs. Cubs and Rangers) or Shop 'Til You Drop.
St. Louis again, you say?  While the Christian Education and other events that happen during the Congress are independent of the location, we realize that people come to the various cities around the country for recreational as well as educational purposes.  We were scheduled to hold the 2013 Annual Session in Detroit, but due to unforeseen construction requirements for COBO Convention Center, we weren't able to return there as scheduled.  Even though selection of the cities for the Congress occur as many as five years in advance, we sent out urgent requests for proposals and the city of St. Louis rose to the occasion and offered the Congress a package that would ensure that we would be able to offer our delegates a convenient and comfortable experience on short notice. For example, one of the many amenities that St. Louis is providing for our delegates at no additional cost is air conditioned coach buses that will transport our delegates between the convention center and the designated hotels.

Convention President Julius Scruggs and I urge you to meet with us in St. Louis for an exciting time during our 108th Annual Session of the Congress of Christian Education.  Registration, Classes and Events information can be found on our website at:  We're looking forward to seeing you in St. Louis!

In Solidarity with the Savior,

George W. Waddles, Sr.
Congress President
