Join us for our 11th annual BIRTH fair on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the United Way Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is FREE. 

 

Come empower yourself to make the right decisions for you and your family.  Get the latest research on birthing options, vaccines, and postpartum mood disorders.  Find the support you need for your pregnancy and birth with workshops on gestational nutrition and birthing with doulas.  Join a VBAC discussion on practical steps to make it happen for you.  

 

We also have a special session just for Dads PLUS arts and crafts, for kids.  And you don't want to miss our premier of the film "Freedom For Birth".

 

Our fashion show will turn heads with the best baby wearing gear and cutest bottoms sporting cloth diapers.  

 

Everyone in the family is welcome to this free, day long, event. It's something you won't want to miss.

We are also excited to bring you over 50 local vendors with unique products and goody bags with their great products.

Dr. Pauline Dillard will speak about the impact of the birth experience on the baby's brain. She will also show how traumatizing a mother during birth contributes to relationship
attachment difficulty. She will share ideas for overcoming the long-term effects of trauma on the child's brain, and how making good birth choices contribute to prevention of unnecessary trauma.

Freedom for Birth is a new 60 minute campaigning film that re-frames Human Rights as the most pressing issue in childbirth today.

The film tells the powerful story of Agnes Gereb, a Hungarian midwife imprisoned for helping to give women choice in birth. It follows the story of a Hungarian mother, Anna Ternovsky, who wanted a home birth with Agnes, took her country to the European Court of Human Rights and won a landmark case which might have changed the world!
