March 2015

"Eagle Creek Park Birds" Event

To kick off the official day of spring, learn more about our migratory and resident birds during our spring membership event! Meet Kevin Carlsen, Eagle Creek Park's assistant park manager and resident bird expert, as he offers insight on the many different types of park birds like bald eagles, great blue herons, and even white pelicans, just to name a few.

The event is free - parkgoers, volunteers and guests are all welcome! Complimentary wine & cheese will be provided, and we'll be offering Foundation gate passes and membership, too!

Space is limited, so pre-register here before March 18 to ensure your spot!

Park Introduces New Volunteer Coordinator

Meet Furkan Keskin-Amonett! She's the new part-time volunteer

coordinator that will be working at the park office from 9am-5pm Monday through Wednesday! She recently moved to the west side of the park all the way from southern Turkey by the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Her family has always enjoyed spending time

in the great outdoors, so we are happy to welcome her to Eagle Creek Park!

If you're interested in volunteering, there is a work day set to help clean up the 56th Street causeway on Saturday, April 11, with details below. Other upcoming opportunities can be found in the volunteer newsletter, or you contact Furkan directly at 317.327.7123.
