October 2016
17th Annual Quarter Challenge!!!
Let's Do This!
Central States Synod Congregations

Dear Partner Congregations,

We had a terrific 2016 season! We continue to grow in numbers and our facilities have all had significant work done to improve them and improve the quality of experience we can offer to all who come and visit. Camp Tomah Shinga has seen incredible support and we are eternally grateful for the support of our congregations. As we continue to grow, we also have increased financial needs to help pay staff, utilities, upkeep of vehicles, and most importantly providing scholarships to anyone in need. We look forward to our biggest challenge ever and I would encourage you to set a goal to meet as a congregation! Make it an event! If you would like a representative from camp to come for worship, we would love to be there! For more ideas on how to support camp and to advertise, please contact one of the camp staff at 785-238-3654.

I would like to cordially invite you to participate in THE...

17th Annual Quarter Challenge

during the month of October!

Here's how it works:

Here's how it works:

For each Sunday in October, your congregation designates all the quarters in the collection plates for Camp Tomah Shinga.  You can also have campers share their camp experience, collect quarters in tin cans to make a joyful noise, have campers wear their Tomah Shinga t-shirts, fill up film canisters with quarters...the opportunities are endless!

Let me know if your congregation will be participating by calling 1-785-238-3654 or emailing [email protected] with your church name & city, contact person's name, email and the how many baptized members you have in your congregation.

The REAL Challenge

How will your congregation respond as Christian stewards of Camp Tomah Shinga?  Will you save your quarters for camp or will you buy a cheeseburger?  Will you drop your quarters for camp in the offering plate or will you spend a buck on coffee?

Hopefully, you'll accept this challenge and support YOUR church camp!

Larger gifts are welcome and encouraged!

T his is a great tradition here at Tomah Shinga and a great way for everyone to remember a great summer at camp, and give us all the opportunity to continue to support this wonderful ministry! It is through the generosity and dedication of individuals and congregations that this organization has thrived for so long. It is exciting to invite you to continue to do so! Blessings to you all, call or stop by any time!
P eace,

Ben Fulton, Executive Director
