This past Tuesday,
my dad celebrated his 98th birthday!
Born April 24, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York,
he entered the world at the beginning of an era
known as the Roaring Twenties.
Woodrow Wilson was President,
flappers were dancing to jazz and the Charleston,
Babe Ruth belted a staggering 54 home runs,
women gained the right to vote,
radio and the mass media were born,
the 18th Amendment aka Prohibition became law
and $3200 was enough to buy a new house.
