n recognition of his outstanding contribution and commitment as President of MAEDCO (2
016 through 2017). Recognition was also given to the 2017 Board of Directors, the outgoing board members (Cathy Early, Carla Teslicka and Chris Pumo) as well as the retiring members of the Macomb/Bushnell Enterprise Zone Management Board, John Maguire and Dave Thompson. Thank

Special thanks to our keynote speaker, Yonas Hagos! Hagos shared how he came to the United States (from a Sudan refugee camp) at the age of 10. He joined the army after 9/11 because, he says, he felt like this country had given him so much. Hagos demonstrates the true spirit of an entrepreneur. He opened the Macomb Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins in November 2017. In addition to the Macomb location, Yonas and his partners own seven other stores throughout Illinois and Missouri.
