We did it.  Against the odds and the disbelief of many--we finished first in the primary election yesterday!

And thanks to your support, I have qualified for the November 6th general election to face off against Republican Scott Wilk, a worthy opponent whom we cannot take lightly. He is savvy, fights hard and will be well-funded.

In the coming months, I am going to be focused on doing what it will take to win: raising money, recruiting volunteers, and, most importantly, engaging voters throughout the 38th Assembly District.

Here is how you can help:

• Make a contribution
• Host a "Meet the Candidate" event at your home or local coffee shop
• Sign up to volunteer for phone banking and/or knocking on doors

I know that November 6th seems like a long way off.  But in the political arena it is right around the corner. Hence, I am determined to put all my energies into this campaign and hope that I can count on your continued support.

Finishing first is a humbling experience for me, and I am grateful for the support and enthusiastic response our campaign has received thus far. Sasha and I thank you from the bottom of our heart.

And so, to paraphrase Henry V, I say "Once more unto the breach, dear EdHeads, once more!"  We're going to get California "Heading in the Right Direction!"
