Dear Parents:

 

Next Friday, October 3, 2014 we have a football game versus Benjamin Franklin High School.  The game starts at 4:00 p.m., and it will be played at Ben Franklin.  Due to the early start of the game and the large numbers of students directly involved in this activity as well as the large number of students who normally attend the football games, we decided to implement an early dismissal schedule next Friday.

 

The schedule next Friday will consist of four 80 minute periods (a normal class schedule has 90 minute periods) and an early dismissal at 2:00 p.m.  This abbreviated schedule will only slightly reduce instructional time while providing students and teachers the time needed to attend this activity.

 

Please be aware that supervision will be provided on campus for those students who will not attend the game and who remain on campus while waiting to be picked up by parents or guardians.  After 3:00 p.m., students who remain on campus will be asked to report to the school lobby where a security guard will be on duty.

 

On October 30, 2014, the football team will play John Curtis at Pan America Stadium at 3:30 p.m.  Depending on the effectiveness of Friday's schedule, we are anticipating that we will be running a similar schedule on that day.  I mention this just to give you advance notice.
