AIRWATCH TO EXPAND ATLANTA HEADQUARTERS, CREATING 800 JOBS
|
ATLANTA -- AirWatch, a provider of mobile device technology and security, will expand its headquarters in metro Atlanta, creating 800 jobs over the next two years and investing more than $4 million in new equipment. The company is headquartered at 1155 Perimeter Center in north Fulton County. Founded in 2003, AirWatch currently has a workforce of 650 in Georgia. The facility's expansion is scheduled for completion in 2015.
"We've grown to twice the size of our nearest competitor and expect to double our size this year by combining innovative mobile technology and exceptional talent with the state's economic development resources," says Alan Dabbiere, chairman of AirWatch. "AirWatch and other software companies are playing a critical role in attracting new businesses to the region and solidifying Atlanta as a leading technology player."
Leading the state's project team was Amanda Shailendra, a senior project manager with the Georgia Department of Economic Development's health sciences and advanced technologies team. The Metro Atlanta Chamber and the North Fulton Chamber also assisted with AirWatch's expansion.

WAYPOINT RESIDENTIAL BUYS ASSETS IN GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA

MARIETTA, GA., AND GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Waypoint Residential has acquired The Hamptons at East Cobb in Marietta for an undisclosed price. The 196-unit multifamily complex was constructed in 1997 and is 96 percent leased. The Hamptons at East Cobb is located along Roswell Road near the Atlanta submarkets of Buckhead, Cumberland/Galleria and Central Perimeter. Additionally, Waypoint Residential has purchased a 223-unit multifamily complex known as Garden District, located 20 miles outside of Greenville. It was built in 2008 and is 96 percent leased. Waypoint Residential is based in Greenwich, Conn., and has offices in Atlanta and Boca Raton, Fla. The firm owns and manages approximately 10,000 multifamily units across seven states.

ATLANTA -- CRM Properties LLC has sold the 39,185-square-foot Venture Center, a three-story office building located at 1605 Chantilly Drive in Atlanta, to Wyatt Family Partnership LP for $3.1 million. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is the anchor tenant for the fully leased property. The company renewed and expanded its lease to a total of 33,000 square feet in the fall of 2012. Hunter Henritze, Michael Howell and Chip Sipple of Lincoln Property Co. Southeast represented the seller in the transaction. Wyatt Realty Co. represented the buyer.

DUAL-BRANDED HILTON GARDEN INN AND HOMEWOOD SUITES OPENS

ATLANTA -- The 12-story, dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton has opened at 97 10th St. in Atlanta's midtown submarket. The hotel includes 136 Hilton Garden Inn rooms and 92 Homewood studio suites. The hotel's lobby is divided between the brands, offering two separate check-in desks and dining areas. Communal areas include a business center, fitness center and pool. The property also features five meeting rooms offering more than 3,500 square feet of flexible space and an on-site guest laundry facility. North Point Hospitality Group Inc. owns and manages the property.

ATLANTA -- Grandbridge Real Estate Capital has promoted Ben Dupree to commercial loan officer based in the firm's Atlanta office in Atlantic Station. He is responsible for multiple roles including seniors housing loan production, new client cultivation and support of existing client relationships.
Dupree was previously a senior portfolio manager with Grandbridge's asset management team. He was responsible for asset management and investor reporting for the firm's Freddie Mac multifamily, seniors housing and Fannie Mae seniors housing portfolios. Dupree is a native of Griffin and originally joined Grandbridge in 2003.
"We are pleased to have Ben rejoin the seniors housing production team," says Richard Thomas, seniors housing product manager for Grandbridge. "His extensive experience with transaction sizing, underwriting and closing procedures will be an asset to the team."
Charlotte, N.C.-based Grandbridge is a subsidiary of Branch Banking and Trust Co. (BB&T) with a broad investor base that includes insurance companies, CMBS investors, pension fund advisors, commercial banks and capital markets investors.
