You can volunteer early and have plenty of time to enjoy your Saturday. You can volunteer late and have time to sleep in after the Bench and Bar retreat.  Please just volunteer!
Last July the BBVLP staff, volunteer lawyers and volunteer judges helped nearly 300 homeless men and women solve their legal problems. We need 40 volunteers!

1. Please help this client adopt her niece 

This client would like an opportunity to adopt her 10-year-old niece. Client has been caring for niece since she was three months old. The mother of the child has been interviewed by a BBVLP staff member and has agreed to the adoption. (16-0006516)

2. Please help this mother of four children through her divorce process

The client's spouse abandoned the family several months ago and has not supported the family since. The spouse's income was their only means of support. Please help this mother navigate the court system. (17-0007692)

3.  Please help this disabled woman whose spouse is in prison

Please help this woman divorce her incarcerated spouse who is in prison for rape and sodomy. The client believes her husband will sign the divorce paperwork. (17-0007901)

4. Help this physically-abused double amputee through her divorce process

Several years ago, the client's spouse slammed her to the ground and broke her kneecap and tibia. She later contracted an infection where her legs had to be amputated. The parties have been separated for several years. The client currently resides in a nursing home since she cannot care for herself. Please help this woman through her divorce process.

5. Please help a mother and her child stay out of harm from her ex-spouse

An incident occurred last week where the ex-spouse was having a seizure due to intoxication and put the three-year-old child in danger. The police were called to the scene and taken out of the custody of the father. (17-0007839)

6. Please help this single father file Chapter 7 Bankrup tcy

Our client is the single father of three. He stated that he would like an opportunity to make a better life for his children. He has lost his job and has been unable to pay his bills. The client has turned in all required paperwork. This client has been to the new Bankruptcy Help Desk and has been screened as an eligible Chapter 7 case.(16-0007141)
