The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance is thrilled to announce that twenty Finger Lakes Rieslings were named in the "Year's Best Riesling" article in the latest issue (August 2013) of Wine & Spirits Magazine. "Our blind panels tasted 151 new-release rieslings from the United States over the past 12 months. Our critics rated 26 as exceptional (90+) and 14 as Best Buys." says Wine & Spirits magazine. The Finger Lakes Rieslings named the "Year's Best", ranged in style from dry to sweet, sixteen of the twenty wines received a 90 rating or higher, and nine were named best buys*. The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance is very excited to release the first video for the Finger Lakes Webisode series. Finger Lakes Webisodes are new a series of short, educational movies that give the viewer an insider's look into the intriguing world of Finger Lakes wines. The first webisode of the series, Bud Break, The Beginning of a New Vintage in the Finger Lakes, features Finger Lakes Wine Ambassador, Thomas Pastuszak, Wine Director of The NoMad in New York City visiting the vineyards of six Finger Lakes wineries to learn about the beginnings of a new vintage.

The mission of the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance is to increase the visibility and reputation of the Finger Lakes AVA, its wines and wineries. The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance was incorporated as a not for profit corporation in the spring of 2004. The twelve member Board of Directors are winery principals representing all four wine trails and non-wine trail wineries. The funding for the Alliance comes from an annual voluntary industry levy based on wine production, cooperative marketing programs and awarded grants.
