Volunteers Needed To Assist the Girl Scouts At Spur Cross Stables
The local Girl Scouts will be holding their Girl Scout horse clinics at Spur Cross Stables this spring and they have asked if we could help. The goa
l is for them to earn their horse badge.
While one group of girls are on a 1-hour trail ride, the other group will be rotating through five stations learning about grooming, tack, care, food, breeds, etc.
We are looking for interested volunteers to help at the stations.
The dates are as follows from 10-1:30:
Saturday March 5th
Sunday March 6th
Saturday March 12th
Sunday March 14th
Saturday March 19th
Sunday March 20th
Saturday April 2nd

Chore Times
The morning chores start at 8am and the evening chores start at 4:30pm. Additionally, Saturday morning orientation begins at 8am.
Please be sure to start at the designated times. We have many volunteers that travel a distance to help, and it is difficult when they arrive and the chores are completed

As a reminder, please be sure to sign-up on the website Chore Calendar so we can ensure all shifts are covered. Also adhere to the Chore times (8am and 4:30pm). The website chore calendar does not have the capability to show half hour increments; use 1600 for the afternoon shift.

THE MINI DONKEYS ARE COMING!!!
20 MINIATURE DONKEYS TO ARRIVE AT TRIPLE HORSE RESCUE, AND
ALL WILL BE SEARCHING FOR FOREVER HOMES
20 MINIATURE DONKEYS in a multitude of petite sizes and colors, will make their way from Texas to Triple R Horse Rescue's ranch in Cave Creek, Ariz. All of the tiny donkeys are anxious to find forever homes with loving families and animal lovers. After their arrival, they will be ready to meet their future owners. More may be arriving later in spring.
According to Ken Bacher, president of Triple R Horse Rescue's, more than
160 of the donkeys wound up at a Texas rescue when a breeding situation occurred. As a result, the donkeys are being released to rescues such as Triple R so new homes can be found for them.
This amazingly group of tiny donkeys will be ready to get settled and adopted once they arrive and are gentled by loving rescue workers. Each mini donkey will be available for adoption at Triple R Horse Rescue, which is located at Spur Cross Stables,44029 North Spur Cross Road in Cave Creek, Ariz. Persons interested in adopting the donkeys can make an appointment by calling 602-396-8726
ABOUT TRIPLE R HORSE RESCUE
Triple R Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses surrendered to its care. The organization, which is run 100% by volunteers, relies on support from the community to fulfill its mission. Triple R Horse Rescue is dedicated to assisting the 175,000 unwanted horses and donkeys in the United States. During the past three years, the organization has re-homed more than 150 animals.

Michele Schafer named to Triple Horse Rescue
board of directors
Cave Creek Arizona - Michele Schafer has been named to serve on the Triple R Horse Rescue board of directors. The Washington D.C., native, who worked in visual merchandizing, received a degree in art history from Arcadia University. Schafer also trained as a medical aesthetician working in the Philadelphia, Penn. She has been volunteering at Triple R for more than four years.
After marrying Ken Schafer, she moved to Pennsylvania and raised two children; Schafer lived there for 30 years until moving to Cave Creek in 2011. She looks forward to being a part of Triple R Horse Rescue for many years to come.
Stephanie Bacher named to Triple Horse Rescue
board of directors
Stephanie Bacher
has been named to serve on the Triple R Horse Rescue board of directors. Bacher, an Arizona native who has volunteered at the rescue for more than five years, previously provided volunteer service in Canada, Mexico and two different African countries and worked with several dog rescues.
Bacher, an Arizona native and the mother of a 18-month-old daughter, studied American sign language, Early Childhood Education and has always had the desire to help children and animals including service in Africa for orphanages. She has worked with several dog rescues and has
volunteered at the rescue for five years.

ROPE & CHROME

Now is your chance to dress up your horse, donkey or mini like a
motorcycle...that's right - a motorcycle - to compete in a fun new event
in Cave Creek known as ROPE & CHROME. Rope & Chrome is part of a new
inaugural festival known as Arizona Wild West Fest, a western/music
festival that will take place at multiple venues throughout Cave Creek.
Rope & Chrome comes to life on Saturday, March 13, 2016 in historic Cave
Creek during Arizona Wild West Fest.
The first ever Best in the West western motorcycle contest, contestants
will showcase their most imaginative western themed motorcycles and
western dressed riders as they compete for prizes and bragging rights
for a year.
Categories include:
* Best Bike
* Rider Gone Wild West
* Best Horse
* Cowboy Gone Biker
In addition to motorcycle entries, horse, donkey and mini horse owners
should bring their animals dressed as motorcycles; this piece of the
contest is know as reverse Rope & Chrome. Motorcycle contestants will
ride into town to show off their entries at 3:00 PM; horses should
arrive at by 4:45 PM. The contest will be held at the Roadhouse at 5:00
PM. Rope & Chrome will be held at the Roadhouse, which is located at
6900 E. Cave Creek Road.
Arizona Wild West Festival, Arizona's newest and largest western/music
festival, will take place March 11-13, 2016 in Cave Creek, Ariz. This
one-of-a-kind event will feature a number of first time, signature,
family-friendly activities.
