There was no time to do an Email Update last week. We were busy with the arrival of 'Cutaway', the new Limited Edition book featuring the automotive art of David Kimble. All advance orders should be on their way to TMC customers by the weekend.

Our first shipments of both 'Cutaway' and 'Grand Prix: The Killer Years' sold out in record time. Additional stock of both has been secured but we suggest customers place their orders soon to guarantee Christmas delivery.

Lots more to tell you about today:
New Spark & Bizarre Releases:
Also arriving last week was a selection of new models from Spark and Bizarre (You can see the whole list HERE). One of the highlights is the latest Land Speed Record release from Bizarre, the 1/43 scale Bluebird of Sir Malcolm Campbell in 1933 Daytona Beach trim, seen above. $119.95. Order HERE.
Campbell Autograph Presentation
Available at TMC is this one-of-a-kind Autograph Presentation, which features an original Pyroil magazine ad with photos of Bluebird and Sir Malcolm Cambell at Daytona in 1933 and touting the new Land Speed Record achieved using Pyroil products. The ad is paired with a hand signed typed letter on Sir Malcolm Cambell's embossed personal letterhead, dated 30th August, 1948. The presentation is framed in a rich, brown molding, dark grey mat and UV resistant glass. $595.00. Purchase HERE.

The first 1/43 scale 2011 LeMans releases from Spark (including the Peugeot team cars, one of which is featured in today's masthead.) is due to arrive by Thanksgiving. We expect at least 2 more shipments before the end of the year.

Spark has announced they will produce a second run of their 1/18 scale 2010 LeMans winning Audi R15.  No firm ETA as yet. Spark's 1/18 scale releases are in high demand.  Reservations strongly advised.
TSM News:
TSM Jager Porsche
The latest 1/18 scale release from TSM Model (formerly TrueScale Miniatures) is the #8 Jagermeister Porsche 935 as driven to a second place finish by Jacky Ickx and Manfred Schurti in the 1978 ADAC 1000 at the Nurburgring. In stock now: $175.00. We also have TSM's 1/18 scale Jagermeister Racing Display Cases in stock. $50.00.
TSM announced that production of their 1/18 scale Porsche 936/77, which made its debut at Rennsport last month, has been delayed. It seems that the factory that was producing them suddenly declared bankruptcy, a problem that has hurt other model companies, notably Biante, in recent weeks. We are still accepting orders but we do not expect delivery until 2012.
You can check out photos of the 1/18 TSM Porsche 936/77 HERE.
The Limit
Coming Next Week:
"...(an) enthralling history of road racing's golden era"
- The Wall Street Journal
'The Limit'
Life and Death on the 1961 Grand Prix Circuit
by Michael Cannell

In 'THE LIMIT', Michael Cannell tells the fascinating story of Phil Hill - a California mechanic who would become the first American-born driver to win the Formula One World Championship  -and, on the fiftieth anniversary of his triumph, brings to life a vanished world of glamour, valor, and daring.

With the pacing and vivid description of a novel, 'THE LIMIT' charts the journey that brought Hill from dusty California lots racing midget cars into the ranks of a singular breed of men, competing with daredevils for glory on Grand Prix tracks across Europe. Facing death at every turn, these men rounded circuits at well over 150 mph in an era before seat belts or roll bars -an era when drivers were "crushed, burned, and beheaded with unnerving regularity."

Website Update:

We've made a few small changes to our Online Shopping Website in order to give you more accurate information on new arrivals, especially important during the Holiday season. Although they've never really been accurate indicators, the recent manufacturing difficulties in China have made release date estimates from the model companies totally worthless - so we've removed them. From now on, we will only list items in the 'Upcoming Products' section at the bottom of the front page of Online Shopping after we have confirmed that the items are actually inbound. We are now able to feature more items on that page, making your shopping a bit easier.

We're always interested in your comments and suggestions. Drop me a note HERE.
