Greetings!,
Committees are filling fast! Sign up TODAY to ensure your first choice of committee - North, East, 2 Central, South, and Judicial
You're invited to give the candidates what they deserve!
The Municipal League of King County is seeking Candidate Investigators for the 2012 evaluation program. Our program provides the region's only independent, non-partisan, non-agenda driven evaluation of local candidates, and we need your help. We cannot provide this vital resource to the public without the assistance of our volunteers, and hope that you can join us for this year's program.

Volunteer Responsibilities As a committee member and candidate investigator, you will review candidate questionnaires, check 7-10 candidate references, and conduct live interviews with the candidates and your fellow committee members. Candidate ratings are based on our four criteria (Involvement, Effectiveness, Character and Knowledge) as well as each candidate's potential to serve their community. The ratings are not based on a candidate's political affiliations or policy positions. As a general rule, our volunteers are required to refrain from active involvement in campaigns or political parties during the election season and must step aside from the ratings process whenever they have connections to any candidate in any particular race |

Saturdays or weekdays?
Last year we experimented with a Saturday-only committee and it was such a success both for the volunteers and the candidates that we have decided to use a Saturday schedule for a majority of our 2012 committees. As a 2012 volunteer you will be asked to dedicate three Saturdays in June to interview and rate candidates.
This year, we will be offering a choice of six committees: North Committee, Central Committee A & B, East Committee, South Committee, and the Judicial Committee. With the exception of Central Committee A, all of our candidate interviews will take place on three Saturdays in June (instead of weeknights). Our Central Committee A will continue to meet Monday through Thursday over two weeks in June, from 6-9 p.m. Our tentative schedule is as follows:
Saturday Committees:
- Saturday, June 9th; 9 am - 4 pm
- Saturday, June 16th; 9 am - 4 pm
- Saturday, June 23rd; 9 am - 4 pm
- Committee Final Review/Board Review TBD
Central Committee A (weeknights):
- Week 1: Monday June 11th - Thursday June 14th; 6 pm - 9 pm
- Week 2: Monday June 18th - Thursday June 21st; 6 pm - 9 pm
- Committee Final Review/Board Review TBD
In order to rate the candidates fairly, it is imperative that you are able to commit to one variation of the above dates. If you are a CI with a Saturday committee, you are expected to attend at least 75% of the interviews.
