Start off the spring season with a fabulous garden show & sale. Sprawled across the plantation is an abundance of fresh, locally grown plants, shrubs & trees plus, everything garden related: one of a kind bird baths, stained glass, patio furniture, goats milk cheese, porch enclosures, garden art & more. Fun, educational classes in cooking, gardening & the arts. Try the Audubon Bird Hike through beautiful Abbey Nature Preserve. It's all part of this annual rite of spring.

Poplar Grove's Farm Market offers absolutely fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, herbs, flowers, eggs, cheese, meats, seafood, honey and more. The market also features fresh baked goods, pickled okra, peanuts, handcrafted one-of-a-kind gifts such as jewelry, scented candles, scherrenschnidt, and pottery. Fabulous cooking classes with 4 star New York chef. Join us for special activities opening day April 4th & Family Day June 27th.

The most memorable show of the summer takes place under big old shade trees at Historic Poplar Grove Plantation. Classic cars and trucks compete for top awards. The Country Flea Market offers handmade crafts, furniture, jewelry, gently used goods and more. Be sure to check out the antique tractor display in the pasture. Take a break from the summer heat with an ice cream sundae in the air conditioned barn. Bar-be-cue sandwiches, hot dogs, beverages, and other delicious treats! Rain date: July 15th
Autumn 5K Fun Run
Saturday, September 22
Run or walk through beautiful, serene Abbey Nature Preserve, a wonderful experience! The cross country style trail meanders through the natural environment of the original gristmill site. Cedar forests, leafy canopied trails, a scenic pond and wooden footbridge set the scene for a peaceful, healthy Fun - Run.

A frighteningly fun Cape FEAR tradition since 1981. Haunted barn, haunted hayride, kiddy funhouse, rides, games, food, prizes, fortune tellers, non-scary hayrides and activities. Wonderful costume contest Saturday, October 20th. Fun for all ages, it's a hoot!

Christmas Open House

The annual Christmas Open House is a charming gateway to old fashioned holiday spirit. Take a self-guided tour of the beautifully, decorated manor house, shop the Holiday Craft Fair, or visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus. There are hayrides to Christmas music, hot cocoa & cookies,and craft demonstrations. Free admission.

Christmas Open House & Holiday Craft Fair
This Sunday, December 4th Noon to 5PM
We hope you'll join us this Sunday from noon to 5:00PM for Poplar Grove's Christmas Open House and Holiday Craft Fair. Free admission to the beautifully, decorated manor house for a self-guided tour. The museum shop is open, a wonderful place to find books and locally made items. Santa and Mrs. Claus are looking forward to seeing children at the tenant house. There'll be craft demonstrations by the Cape Fear Woodcarvers, Cape Fear Rug Hookers and Gone To Pieces Quilters.
From 1:00PM to 4:00PM Wilmington's award winning barbershop quarter, Black Jack sing Christmas carols and other tunes inside the manor house.
The two barns are full with Holiday Craft Fair(free admission) vendors. They offer a wide variety of great gifts, most locally made, from food to decorations.
Hayrides to Christmas music are $5 per person.
Join us for a great beginning to the best season of the year.
