New year, new seeds! This year we're offering over 75 locally grown seeds plus more than 250 varieties sourced from responsible growers all over the country. We've taken the Safe Seed Pledge and signed Vandana Shiva's Declaration of Seed Independence. We carefully research all of our off-farm seed sources so that you can feel good about what your seed dollars are supporting.

Read more about us and our seed philosophy.

New year, new membership! Our new membership program is more flexible, more focused, and will give you a full year of savings from 5%-20%. The more you buy the more you save on seeds (both Garden Packs and Art Packs!), gifts, garden wear (t-shirt coming soon!) and art.

This year we'll all be saving the same variety, learning how to grow, harvest, eat, and save seed from Purple Podded Peas. By working cooperatively on one important variety each year we'll be connecting all of our gardens into one big seed farm. Our collectively-saved seeds will be redistributed to school gardens, community groups, and gardeners in need.

We'll let you know soon when it's time to nominate school gardens, community organizations, and individual farmers and gardeners to receive free seeds!

In the meantime, click here to learn about our ever-growing seed donation drive where you can donate seeds just by sharing.

New year, new email! Based on feedback from our customers, we've decided to make some changes to our email content, frequency, and layout. Our new Seeder's Digest will come 2-3 times per month full of gardening how-to, timely tips, sales, giveaways, and more. This email will help keep you on track in your garden as you follow along with what we're up to in the seed gardens here.

Help us spread the word about our 2013 Heirloom Seed Catalog. Every time you forward this email or share it on Facebook with interested friends, gardeners, or garden groups, we'll add another seed pack to our donation bin. So far there are close to 600 packs set aside for donations to groups, school gardens, and individual gardeners and farmers in need. Once we have 1000 packs in the bin we'll start our annual seed nominations. Thank you for growing with the Seed Library!
Friends of the Seed Library: A heartfelt thank you to the folks who support our work.
We'd like to give special thanks to Horticulture Magazine and Great Performances for their support of Art of the Heirloom. Please visit them online!
