AIA Chicago is a supporting partner of the recently announced Barack Obama Presidential Library Competition, presented by the Chicago Architecture Foundation and Chicago Architectural Club.

The Chicago Architectural Club has issued this year's charge for the 2014 Chicago Prize, calling for speculative proposals for the proposed Barack
Obama Presidential Library. The proposals are intended to "to initiate a debate in order to rethink and redefine this particular building typology."

First prize will be awarded $1500. Additional cash prizes will be awarded to second and third place winners.
Honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the jury.

A display of winning projects will be exhibited at a special event at the Chicago Architecture Foundation.

The competition is now open and proposals will be accepted through January 10, 2015, Noon CST.
