FACT and MTS collaborate on vehicle donations

Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and FACT partnered once again in an initiative to donate retired MTS vehicles (small buses) to local non-profit transportation service providers. MTS and FACT worked together to find eligible recipients for these vehicles. The buses were formerly used for providing service for MTS Access, the ADA paratransit service for persons with disabilities.

Ten 2006/2008 El Dorado National Type B large buses were available for donation. A committee including Todd Lordson (MTS), Lisa Madson (SANDAG), and Oswaldo Perez (FACT) reviewed the applications and forwarded recommendations to FACT's Board of Directors.

The vehicles were donated to nonprofit agencies that committed to providing the most trips for persons with disabilities in the MTS Access service area. Recipients include Coordinated Fleet Services - 4 vehicles, Renewing Life - 2 vehicles, Fraternity House Inc. - 2 vehicles, New Vision Christian Fellowship - 2 vehicles.
