What Happened this Week?
The
top three donations this week were in-kind contributions from the
Senate Democratic Victory Fund to three Democratic incumbents: Senators Gary Forby, Melinda Bush, and Thomas Cullerton. Each incumbent received an in-kind contribution between
$21,00 and
$24,000
. In each case, the contribution was provided to pay for the services of Anzalone Liszt Grove Research, a self-proclaimed Democratic polling firm. In June, the Illinois Republican Party made over $80,000
worth of Independent Expenditures supporting Dale Fowler and Seth Lewis, Forby and Cullerton's opponents.
Meanwhile,
Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno received the two largest transfers of last week:
$10,000 from both
State Farm Agents & Associates PAC and
NRG Energy PAC on Thursday June 14th. Leader Radogno also received a
$10,000 donation
that same day from
Nicor Gas. Radogno does not face a challenger in November's General Election.
