Community Request:
Thank you for always referring to the check list at your site and sending the pick up person prepared with the skinny on what and how to pick up the correct share.  This helps to keep mistakes, that can happen both at the farm or at the pick up site, to a minimum.  

Make up Shares: Remember to schedule your make up shares as they cannot be credited to the following season and must be used in this calendar year.  Farmer request: scheduling your make up shares sooner in the season when the bounty is greater rather than later in the season when production is down, helps to ease the challenge of building full and hearty boxes at the end of the year.  Thanks 
 
Watermelons: We would like to celebrate the joy of this delicious bounty.  Watermelons are fragile and somewhat tricky when diagnosing ripeness. This can occasionally lead to mishaps in the boxes.  If your melon is damaged in transit or is not good inside, make sure to let us know.  We do everything we can to offer replacement items the following week.

Weeding tools!
Weeds are a lot of work to keep up with here on the farm.  Some of them we have to pull by hand, some of them we use hand tools or machanical tools to remove, and some of them, most of them really, we end up just living with. Some weeds, you can actually eat, like dandelion.  Too many weeds though will choke out the plant that you are trying to grow.

There are many versions of this concept, but this is a more classic Italian version.  Once you know about this little trick, you can start getting creative and add it to your own food inspirations- No recipe required.

Celery Note: This celery will be thinner, tougher, and maybe even stringier than you are used to if you compare it to store bought celery.  It is a strong flavored cooking celery that is NOT typically eaten raw. Chopped and cooked as an aromatic in your soups and sauces, you will fall in love with what it does to the flavor of your cooking.
