The Harvest Moon
This past week was the time of what is called the Harvest Moon. The name was given to it by farmers because the bright light made it possible to harvest their autumn crops late into the night. (This was at a time before farmers had lights for their tractors.)

Note: Hakurei Turnips are a salad turnip that is delicious eaten raw or cooked. It is not your everyday turnip and has quickly become a member favorite. If you have never had them, you are sure to fall in love.
