We want to make sure that our kids know about the farm too. Find fun pictures, games, stories, or color pages for kids.
The Farmer's Almanac has been used by farmers for hundreds of years. It helps them to decide when to plant and harvest their crops. Nowadays there are much more scientific tools for us to use, but this is still a cool book or website to visit. This kid's version is packed with fun facts, projects, and games.
Shares can be put on hold if you will be away. LotFotL requires 48 hours advance notice for any vacation holds. Thanks
Use this NEW link to schedule your vacation hold. Click Here. Or you can find a link on the CSA tab on our website.
Forgotten Shares: The farm is not in a position to replace forgotten shares. Sometimes, if you call in time, you get lucky and your share can be saved.

Special Notes
Peas: This weeks' heavy rain has really given the peas a growth boost. The high amount of moisture is great for abundance, but can result is a milder flavored pea.
Washing greens: Effectively washing your farm fresh greens is an important step. LotFotL's 2016 greens washing policy has shifted this year as we are adopting a stronger food safety plan here at the farm. Because, leafy greens are at higher risk for bacterial contamination when they are washed, we try NOT to wash them if at all possible. Washing them right before they are eaten is a much safer practice. Check out our
greens washing 101 sheet to learn how to get your greens clean.
