Garlic Scapes: Garlic scapes, the non-flowering "flower stalks" of hardneck garlic plants, are harvested from the plants in late spring or early summer so as to not divert the energy of the plant away from growing the much desired bulbs. Think of their taste as very similar to the garlic they grow from, but with an added "greenness" to it that tones down the pungency of the garlic flavor. To store scapes, place them loosely in plastic and keep in the fridge. If you're asking yourself "now what do I do with these?!" the Huffington Post has got our backs with this
great article with 20 (yes, TWENTY)
ideas of how to prepare your garlic scapes.
Thank you for your support. We couldn't do this without you. Help our family grow. Consider sharing this email with a friend.
