John Howe, M&AMI

John Howe is the Director of Business Transition Strategies (BTS), an M&A sales and advisory firm working with privately held companies in New England with offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  His focus is on small and midsize companies with revenues between $2 million and $20 million.

On December 14, 2016, Karl Kirsch was recognized with the highest honor awarded by the Georgia Society for Association Executives (GSAE); The Clifford M. Clarke Award!  The Clifford M. Clarke Award is bestowed upon a Georgia association executive who has demonstrated exemplary personal leadership, service, outstanding accomplishments and service in association management.  Established in 1969, the award is named for the late Clifford M. Clarke, President Emeritus of the Arthritis Foundation.

Home from a long cruise, Bob and Marge stopped by the post office to pick up their mail. One letter stood out -- a notice from the IRS stating that it had disallowed a tax deduction of $547,400 from the couple's 2015 personal tax return. In addition to owing back taxes on the disallowed amount, they also owed penalties and interest. An IRS audit that began eight months earlier examining the sale of their business had led to this devastating news.


You may or may not realize that The M&A Source is a volunteer-driven association, but we want your help.  While it's true that we rely heavily on our association management team (Meeting Expectations), we also rely heavily on the volunteers who donate their time to serve on our numerous committees.  In particular, we're looking for volunteers to serve on the Communications and Webinar committees.
