2017 DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference

Call for Speaker Proposals: Deadline is December 16, 2016

Mark your calendars and save the date! Once again the DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference comes nearly a month earlier next year on Friday, May 19, 2017. As one of the top five regional AFP conferences in the country, nearly 600 fundraising professionals are expected to be on hand to learn, network and visit the exhibitors.

AFP Greater Dallas and Fort Worth Metro Chapters seek proposals for educational sessions at the 2017 AFP DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference which is one of the top five regional AFP conferences in the country, regularly attracting close to 600 attendees from Texas and neighboring states. Sessions are one hour in length (50 minutes for presentation with 10 minutes Q&A) and are organized by education tracks with four sessions in each track. The education tracks are as follows:
  • Annual Giving
    (Annual Appeals, Special Events, Direct Response)
  • Best Practices
    (Various Topics such as Grantwriting and Career Management)
  • Board & Volunteer Leadership
    (Recruiting, Training, Mentoring, Managing)
  • Donor Relations
    (Cultivation, Stewardship)
  • Gift Planning
    (Dallas Council of Charitable Gift Planners and Lone Star Council of Partnership for Philanthropic Planning)
  • Major Gifts
    (Major & Principal Gifts, Capital Campaigns)
  • Marketing & Communications
    (Branding, Social Media, Storytelling)
  • Research & Analytics
    (Prospect Research, Data Analysis)
The selection committee is actively seeking proposals that address the professional development needs of conference attendees who range in experience level from entry (up to 5 years), mid-level (5-10 years), and advanced professionals (11+ years). The following criteria are taken into consideration in speaker selection:
  • The credentials and exemplification of the speaker
  • The experience level that the program is designed for
  • The relevance, timeliness, and originality of the presentation, and
  • The need for the program based on feedback from our constituents.
Consultants submitting a speaker proposal are encouraged to include a frontline fundraiser as co-presenter in their session. Presenter selections will be announced and the details of the program finalized by Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

Proposals are due Friday, December 16, 2016
