The Metro Monday Connection

April 24, 2017
Greetings!
We at Metro Ministries invite you to connect with ministries, with resources, and with each other! Please share this with your congregations, your communities, and your friends.
NEAR Community Luncheon Held on April 20
On Thursday, April 20, Near East Area Renewal (NEAR) hosted a luncheon fundraiser to celebrate 100 redeveloped homes on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, an enormous blessing to the neighborhood. Dr. David Hampton, the Deputy Mayor of Neighborhood Engagement,  gave the keynote address. The event was held at the Boner Fitness + Learning Center at the Chase Legacy Building.

The East Tenth Children & Youth Center board members were in attendance as well as many new homeowners who have benefitted from NEAR.

St. Mark's UMW and Vida Nueva

On Wednesday, April 19, Executive Director of Metro Ministries, Lisa Morris, hosted a luncheon for St. Mark's UMW and Vida Nueva to connect!

The women of St. Mark's learned new information about Metro Ministries and Vida Nueva, and engaged in a lively discussion of how resources are connected in Central Indiana encouraging outreach and finding those previously unseen opportunities in our community.

A highlight of the St. Mark's group tour of Vida Nueva Ministries was the Voces (Voices) Art Gallery where the children have shared their stories in "Hanging Journals". Check out pictures from the event HERE and learn more about Vida Nueva HERE.
